The Fargo Marathon is next weekend and i'm off to a great start as I ASSUMED I could just drive up the morning of and grab my packet and run the race. WRONG! I had to scramble the week before the race and look at stupid over priced hotel rooms but thanks to some cool friends it all worked out. Swimming and biking have been on the back burner with the prolonged winter. Stealth spent way too much time on the trainer and I never completed any long trainer rides so that left some time for running, mostly on the treadmill but still running. Today was spent hammering out a 20 mile run. Yes the whole taper thing and being a week out from the race blah blah blah. Fargo is a training run with a "free" T-Shirt and medal for me. The end goal is a 3:45 at Grandmas and to just improve on my half iron time at IRONMAN Wisconsin 70.3 coming up in a few weeks. So while most have been prepping for Fargo for months, I am using Fargo to prep for these other two races.
2018 has been a weird training year so far but these are the stats. Going to be cramming a whole lot of swimming and biking in the next few weeks. Likely a long bike ride tomorrow, both for training and then to burn off Mother's Day brunch!
* That long bike ride turned into a bike ride / side of the trail repair shop. Bolt securing the extensions to the stem snapped off thus leaving the extensions loose and UNRIDABLE. So there is that...
Swimming: 8 sessions for 5.77 miles
Biking: 26 sessions for 279.81 miles
Running: 54 sessions for 312.69
- Best of luck to Mike Loween at Fargo Marathon along with his running buds!
- Best of luck to Branden Scheel who is off to CHATTANOOGA for IMCHOO 70.3
- Keep crushing the training for IM Boulder Corey Nygaard and get that KQ!
WORK HARD. STAY HUMBLE. A LIFE FILLED WITH SWIM, BIKE & RUN. 5Ks TO MARATHONS, SPRINT TO IRONMAN 140.6
